KOTA KINABALU: Two robbers molested and assaulted a teenage girl as her 44-year-old father who was tied up heard her cries for help but could do nothing.
The men, who escaped with only RM100 and a handphone, were believed to have entered the girl's room about 5am yesterday and dragged the 15-year-old downstairs before attacking her upon being informed by her father that there was no money in the house.
The girl has since been admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital here for serious trauma.
Kota Kinabalu City Police Chief Asst Comm Ku Chin Wah confirmed receiving a report on the incident. He declined further comment.
It was learned that the burglars who covered their faces with a handkerchief and a t-shirt had broken into the double-storey terrace house by prising open the kitchen window.
Ruffling sounds in his room awakened the father who saw the two men armed with a knife and kitchen chopper inside the room.
He asked them what they were doing in house, and the intruders demanded for his cash.
When he told them he had none, the two men tied him up and ordered him to remain silent.
They then entered the daughter’s room and one of them took the girl downstairs where he allegedly molested and assaulted her before they fled the house.
Police on being alerted rushed to the scene and carried out mop-up operations in the area. No one was arrested.
